Club Med's interior was designed and built with luxury in mind. They are big, and decorated in style, with quality and comfortable furniture, and with all the facilities you would expect in a luxurious property: large area to entertain guests, multiple bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, kitchen, laundry area, and a garden with private pool and a covered area for 'al-fresco' dining. The accommodation is impressive, although it felt a bit 'dated' and in need of some refurbishment.

The hotel lobby was already seen as an underrated place where its only function was to make people wait and nothing further, making it more like a passageway in the all hotel. Today that image is different, with the years passing hotel owners started realising that this division was the key to the visitor’s perspective and the one that would cause the biggest impact. Having an excellent service combined with an inviting and powerful lobby can really make the difference.

 

My attention was also brought to the terrace area and restaurant. My new “sea, sand, sun” design approach is an eclectic mix of furnishings that are inspired by the beauty of the island, have a warm and friendly, grounded, casual, yet sophisticated “club resort” style which utilizes warm, wood finishes rich and deep, accented with sand white, pops of orange and blue tone, burnished metals, leather, tailored classic patterns for fabrics and cushions. The result is a custom tailored style that combines the best of old word glamour and charm of the hotel with a fresh and natural touch.

MY ROLE IN THIS PROJECT:

Assigned as the Interior Architect to take all the measurements on site, reproduce the 2D for blue prints and redesign the space. The site works were also conducted under my supervision.

 

This project was designed when I was employed as an Interior Architect at AD NOVA LTD
